AMPHIBIRUN announces new global partnership with EXTREME the action and adventure sports brand!
Amphibirun – The new and unique beach-based obstacle course event series is already creating big waves in the obstacle course racing world. The joint venture partnership will see EXTREME working closely with AMPHIBIRUN to drive the 2019 series in the UK, accelerate and expand its global roll out programme. The current series coupled with EXTREME’s 20 years’ experience in sports and lifestyle events, sponsorship and its existing media reach of more than 150 million fans a month, will further strengthen the operational capabilities and consumer experience.
AMPHIBIRUN prides itself on its unique approach of blending a 10km obstacle course with iconic seaside locations, that provide not only spectacular beachfronts and beautiful scenery, but also a breath-taking partnership of natural and man-made features. They will challenge your strength, stamina and mental grit, whilst also catering for participants of all levels of ability.
3 UK events have already been confirmed and announced for 2019;
- 22nd / 23rd June – Worthing, West Sussex
- 20th / 21st July – Clacton On Sea, Essex
- 21st / 22nd September – Weston Super-Mare
- 19th / 20th October – Bournemouth (to be confirmed)
EXTREME will not only look to bring its deep experience in events and existing fanbase, it will also incorporate its network of partners, destination and 125+ ambassador and influencer program.
The series has a number of key charities that it is supporting and working with for 2019 including the RLSS, Royal Life Saving Society and SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.

If you think mud-based obstacle racing is so last year, then this is the race series for you. Breaking free from those well-trodden, traditional locations, we are creating something even more challenging with a little help from our mortal enemy – sand. You’ll test your personal fitness, courage, determination, teamwork and camaraderie to the limit.
Our events are set in stunning UK coastal locations using the natural terrain to its advantage and will feature 25 epic obstacle challenges. Throughout the course competitors must prepare to run, climb, haul, leap, slide and crawl as they stampede round the 10KM course.
We encourage teamwork and even if you don’t enter as a team, we hope you’ll assist your fellow runners in completing the course. But it’s not just a race; it’s designed as a challenge for anyone over the age of 16 to tackle at their own pace, whatever their ability. Once the course has been completed, back at base everyone can chill out in the vibrant event village alongside fellow conquering heroes and enjoy a triumphant cold drink at the licensed bar and refuel with top-notch grub provided by quality independent food vendors. Sponsors and charity partners will be on parade and the Amphibirun Kit Shop will be stocked with goodies and open for business. Amphibirun inspires to be a great day out for runners and supporters, each event will be very spectator friendly, with wonderful views of the entire course.
Participants should expect a 10 kilometre challenging course packed with 25 awesome obstacles and a lot of ice, their very own finishing merchandise and a pretty cool medal not forgetting an ice cold refreshing beverage. Oh, and unlimited action shots so make sure you look out for the cameras and give us your best pose!
